Authorised access to personal details of the individuals on the motor vehicle register for the purposes of trading in/purchasing vehicles.
As part of the process of completing a vehicle sale we conduct a search based on the number plate and/or vin number of your trade in vehicle to ensure you are the current registered owner, you do not have finance owing
against the vehicle and the vehicle is not written off or imported as damaged.
All records are stored securely in accordance with our responsibilities to the NZTА.

General statement:
a. Your name and address may be obtained from the motor vehicle register; and
b. We are authorised to access this information under gazette notice number 2022-au4073;
c. This is for the purpose of confirming the vendor is the registered person of a motor vehicle that we, the motor vehicle trader is proposing to purchase; and
d. To assist in verifying that a change of registerer person has been completed correctly for a transaction in which we are the purchaser or seller; and
e. To ensure the vehicle we looking to purchase has no security registered against it and/or to confirm the vehicles registration status.
